How Andrew Started Diving
Andrew first tried scuba diving in 2003 during a pool try dive
while on holiday in Lanzarote. The experience stayed with him, and
after returning home he signed up with a local dive centre for an
Open Water referral course, completing his qualifying dives in the
Red Sea.
In March 2004, he took a Peak Performance Buoyancy course in a
cold, muddy UK lake with water around 5 degrees C. That confirmed
diving had become far more than a holiday activity.
Becoming a Diving Professional
Andrew went PADI Pro in 2006, became a PADI Staff Instructor in
2008 and has since progressed to PADI Master Instructor.
His background now covers recreational scuba, instructor
development support, specialty training, freediving, Emergency
First Response, technical diving, sidemount and rebreather
experience.
Teaching Approach
His teaching style is practical, calm and experience-led. He is
especially interested in helping divers build confidence, improve
buoyancy, think more clearly underwater and develop safer habits
before problems become emergencies.
Freediving
Freediving has added another dimension to Andrew's time in the
water. As a PADI Freediving Instructor, he values relaxation,
breathing, body awareness, mental control and safe progression.
